Conservators often use different light sources for examination due to conservation, such as using infrared light to inspect the collection for manuscripts, or using ultraviolet radiation to observe whether there are repair marks and varnish on the surface of the collection. These are different media that may have different absorption and reflection reactions under the motivational light source. These reactions can provide maintenance personnel formulate conservation plans, or researchers can make judgments and interpretations of the collection. The National Museum of Taiwan History (NMTH) is located in Tainan City in southern Taiwan. It is an institution that collects cultural objects from Taiwan’s history and the lives of everyday people. NMTH collected 2 pieces the collection name"Jian Xing Zhuang Mansion Han Chinese Collecting Materials for Wangzai Lishe" wooden polychrome. The collections were made of polychrome wood, which records the Han people and the Paiwan native inhabitant Wangjia tribe. The name and quantity of the items traded by the native inhabitant and the painted layer on the surface are lost and worn in many places, so many words cannot be clearly identified. Reflected ultraviolet and IR photography were used to identify the lost message so it can be read clearly. In addition, in the selection of conservation materials, the conservator must also take into account the material's fluorescent properties and the impact on the object.
